Rosie Ledet Zydeco "Swing That Thing"

This is Rosie Ledet, born Bellard in 1971 in Church Point, Louisiana. She is an American Creole Zydeco accordion player and singer. At 16 she met her future husband Morris Ledet at a dance. He taught her to play Zydeco accordion and was so impressed with her style that he stepped aside , let her play lead and accompanied her on base guitar, touring with the Zydeco Playboys. They sure do lay down a heavy beat!

One Night Affait (Live)

Another track, One Night Affair. Some say Esther's voice is an acquired taste ,a mixture of honey and vinegar. The very first time I heard her I was a fan for life!

I've Never Found a Man (Live)

I ordered Esther Phillips live ar Onkel Po's, Hamburg, a venue holding 250. It shipped from Germany on 13th Dec 2022. I got it today. The SA post Office was shut for a couple of months because the landlord cut the power. It has now opened but still no power. A very kind lady sought my cd using cellphone light! She sms ed me to say she had found it! I wanted to give her a big kiss but she works behind bulletproof glass! Here's the leading track, I Never Found a Man like You

I Wanna Hold You

Joan Armatrading has been on the back burner of my list but let's rectify that! Great singer and guitarist as well. Always uses high quality Ovation Guitars I'm told. Here;s one of my favourites!

British guitarist analyses Joan Armatrading playing solo live in 1979!

I really enjoy the analyses of voice and guitar done by Fil. Here he concentrates on the guitar work of Joan Armatrading, giving a lot of detail to her completeness as an artist as well as going right down to her incredible finger work. Her completeness is such that she is quite capable of producing an album single- handedly from writing the songs to laying down all the instrument and vocal tracks .Hope you enjoy Fil (and Joan) as much as I do.

One Day I'll Fly Away - Vesta Williams (1984)

Vesta again with a song that is strongly associated with Randy Crawford. Written by Joe Sample. This is a great version!
