But the moment she sang the first line I was an instant fan of Ketty Lester. Beautiful low contralto voice with absolutely clear enunciation. She was born in 1934 in Hope Arkansas and at 8.00pm California time on August 3rd this year will be giving a concert for her loyal fans. Her hair has turned white but she still has this beautiful voice and is still a strikingly beautiful lady. The song she sings here was her biggest hit, selling over a million copies.Apart from recording with a number of record companies she is also an accomplished actress with appearances in several TV series and a number of major films like the Prisoner of Second Avenue. She was nominated for a Grammy award in the category Best Female Pop Vocal artist.
