Fayette Pinkney: One Degree [Full Album + Bonus] (1979)

This week's featured artist is a very special one for me. This is Fayette Pinkney who was a founding member of the Three Degrees and was with them for twelve years. She left in 1977 and went back to complete college studies in Psychology which she had unable to do as her family did not have the means. She did graduate studies and become a councilling psychologist in an academic hospital. She also gave voice lessons to upcoming but disadvantaged singers and was the leader of the Gospel group in her church. She went on tours with the latter. Sadly she passed away in 2009 at the age of 61 from acute respiratory problems. Someone who had known her well said that Fayette was a person who had lived her whole life not just with love but with agape. If I went on one of those shows where you are asked what person from history would you most want to have a conversation with for me it would be Fayette. In 1979 she made a single album with British start up company Chopper Records. Unfortunately the album was largely ignored even though she has an exquisitely beautiful voice and the material chosen seems fine . The whole album was put up on YouTube a few days ago so I am able to showcase this now from start to finish from this very exceptional( in so many ways) lady.
