Honey Cone - Take Me With You

We celebrated the posthumous birthday of Edna Wright on 2nd February (1945). She was the leader of this group, Honeycone, which was active from 1968 t0 1973 . They recorded for Hot Wax Records which was one of the companies started by the Holland/ Dozier/ Holland trio. The other group members were Carolynn Willis and Shelley Clark. Edna was also the sister of Darlene Love. Sadly she passed away in 2020. Rest in Peace Edna.

I've featured Barbara McNair before but came across some stuff I hadn't seen before . She was a multi talented artist starting out with recording for Motown and then becoming an A list actress and she was also the first African American woman with her own show on TV. she sadly passed away from throat cancer at 72 in 2006. Rest in Peace Barbara. Here's one from the Motown days. Great voice.
