Hurt so Good
Born 1951 in Kingston Jamaica she moved to Belize with her family as a child but returned to Jamaica and worked as a librarian at the University of the West Indies at Boma. Her beautiful singing voice was noticed during this period and she went on to produce a number of albums in the 70s. Her biggest hit was Hurt So Good, a cover of the Millie Jackson hit. It was popular in South Africa and I remember it being played on radio. She went back to librarianship for most of the 80s but has done several returns to music since then. In 2001 she performed live at the Heineken Startime show in Kingston. She is still active today and released duet work in 2016 and 2017.
