Marcia Griffiths - children at play

The featured artist is Marcia Griffiths from Jamaica whom I have mentioned before in relation to Women's Day. She is called The Queen of Jamaican Reggae and is now 71 and still performing. She started her career at 15 and was immediately snapped up by a producer who had her singing with the likes of Bob Marley, Bob Andy and other big name Reggae stars. She had a long term singing relationship with Bob Andy and they billed as Bob and Marcia. Her single Electric Slide performed before her 20th birthday was the largest selling single by a female Reggae singer of all time and started a popular dance. She was awarded the Jamaican Order of Distinction (Commander Class) in 2014. She has been involved in a number of films about Reggae for the BBC. Her repertoire includes Reggae standards as well as crossovers to RnB and Soul. I'm not sure if Children At Play has been performed by any other Reggae stars. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the genre could tell me. When Will I See You Again is of course one of the biggest hits for The Three Degrees.
