Randy Crawford - Imagine
Randy " Veronica Crawford was born in 1952 in Macon Georgia. She is highly appreciated in the UK where she received a Best British Female Artist Award. In her home USA she received two Grammy nominations but no award. Performing in clubs initially she made a name in the 1970s with George Benson and Cannonball Adderley .In 1980 she was named Most Outstanding Artist at the Tokyo Music Festival. Her string of hits, many Transatlantic, include Street life, One Day I'll Fly Away You Might Need Somebody and Brook Benton's Rainy Night In Georgia. In 2007 she did a live studio show with David Gilmour and Amos Lee for UK and USA TV. She has sung with the likes of Al Jarreau, Quincey Jones, Zucchero , David Sanborn and Joe Sample. In 2018 she was all set to do a tour in South Africa but unfortunately suffered a stroke. We wish her a full recovery.
Her style is unique and immediately recognisable with a wonderful warm vibrato. One seldom sees her without that broad smile! wonderful stage presence.Attached is John Lennon's idealistic Imagine. The world seems sadly so far from that at present.
