Esther Phillips - Cherry Red + Interview (Live video 1978)

One of my most precious Esther Phillips cd's is the concert at Onkel Po's Carnegie Hall in Hamburg West Germany. This is from a live appearance at the Jazz Festival Montreaux and it sounds very similar. Wonderful to have this live footage! What I did not realise from the cd was that those passages of Piano were actually Esther herself plying. Oh how I miss seeing her live! Would have paid big money to watch her stunning performance! And Cherry Red would have been the cherry on top! One of my favourites from her.
