Gloria Ann Taylor: Love Is A Hurtin' Thing (12in version)
Gloria Ann Taylor was born in Dehue West Virginia and move to Toledo Ohio at age 2. Her mother died when she was a teen and she started singing in Toledo clubs to support herself. She was noticed by record producer Walter Wisenhunt.who became her manger and later her husband. He experimented with a wall of sound type backing but was not successful commercially and she eventually gave up singing. However Ubiquity Records have now re-issued her work on vinyl and cd and her original records have become valuable collectors pieces. She announced a return to singing in 2015 but sadly died of heart problems in 2017 at age 73, caused by having had rheumatic fever as a child. Rest in peace Gloria. This track sounds like one of the Wall of Sound experiments!
