Laura Lee - That's How Strong My Love Is
Laura lee Newton was born in Chicago in 1945. She started out as a Gospel singer with Della Reese but switched to Soul with Chess Records. They sent her to Rick Hall's FAME studio and this track reflects his influence. She was with Holland Dozier Holland's Hot Wax label but became seriously ill in 1975. By 1990 she had recovered and had been ordained as a minister. She went back to Gospel and worked with Al Green.
