Gloria Gaynor - I Am What I Am.
Gloria Gaynor was born in 1943 into a large family filled with music, love and hospitality, she says. She is an icon of the Disco scene and has a repertoire of great hits Disco and RnB. She is still active today and has sung her survival anthem (see below) in many places around the world. These include a great performance in Argentina where she raps with the audience and sings some verses in Spanish. ( She speaks perfect Spanish as there were many Spanish speakers in the New Jersey neighbourhood she grew up in.) In 2017 she dressed as an airline hostess and made an ad for the airline.Hilarious. At 74 she looked great in the uniform! She used the song to advertise washing hands properly to survive the pandemic in 2020 and in2021 she collaborated with Kylie Minogue to thank the latter for reviving Disco. She has received many awards including an Honorary Doctorate.
